Retro Show 2019 Report

The Retro Show 2019 transported us back to a bygone era with vintage vehicles and retro renegades in abundance; we saw a varied and diverse mix of machinery from the show paddock, to the club displays and out on the famous quarter mile. The weather couldn’t seem to make up its mind this weekend; when the sun did decide to make an appearance and the clouds parted, racing was as well under way.  We hope you had a fantastic day here with us at Santa Pod Raceway!

Our first trophy of the day went to Kevin Swam, completing the Autotest Handling Track in an impressive 38.13 seconds with his Ford Escort; with tough competition from an Austin Mini and kit car, Kevin held the Retro Show title for the second year in a row - well done!

The drift arena was busy all day hosting The Retro Drifting Challenge, Round 3 where we witnessed the UK’s top retro drifters put on a sideways driving, tyre smoking, rubber burning extravaganza. Congratulations to winner Mark Chapman and all who competed:

1st: Mark Chapman - BMW E30
2nd: Aru Nas - BMW E30
3rd: Egis Min - Nissan 300zx

Over in the show paddock, the judges had a tough time deciding the winners with deliberations continuing right up to the presentations! We salute all of you who entered – you did us proud with top machinery throughout. After many turns around the paddock, the winners were as follows:
